Digital-art marketplace Zymmetrical of Vancouver, Canada, has partnered with Atlanta-based AdByNet, a full-service online advertising agency. Under the agreement, AdByNet users gain access to Zymmetrical's inventory of photos, images, graphics, fonts and videos.

Zymmetrical is a 2-year-old community-based stock platform that differentiates itself by offering a wider product range and more favorable contributor terms than most traditional and microstock agencies. It is one of the few image-licensing companies that market font software alongside still-image and motion content. Aiming to position itself between premium and micro-priced offerings, Zymmetrical allows content suppliers to set contributors to set their own prices in the range of $3 to $100, and to change these at any time. The creator's cut is 70%, which exemplifies the company's goal of creating a "fair trade" platform for user-generated content.

Zymmetrical founder and CEO Keith Tuomi estimates that the world's small and medium businesses spend $126 billion on advertising each year. The partnership with AdByNet, which offers small and local businesses a one-stop online advertising platform, gives Zymmetrical access to a new, pre-qualified pool of buyers.

The partnership between the two service providers is designed to lower the entry point to advertising on the Internet. According to Tuomi, access to Zymmetrical's inventory will reduce AdByNet users' reproduction costs and cycle time by some 70% each, compared to outsourcing the same work.

AdByNet was founded in 2006 by MIT Ph.D., serial entrepreneur and longtime broadcast-industry ad executive Frederic Bien, who served as senior vice president of media technology at Turner Broadcasting and co-chaired the Time Warner working group on DVRs and ad-related issues. AdByNet believes its competitive advantage is in its proprietary analytical tools and mathematical experience, combined with all-inclusive pricing. Three-piece display-ad campaigns start at $600, including all creative, content-licensing, media buying, ad serving, monitoring and reporting services.
