This Wednesday, National Press Photographers Association president Tony Overman, a staff photojournalist for The Olympian of Olympia, Wash., will testify before the House Natural Resources Committee in Washington, D.C. Overman and NPPA general counsel Mickey H. Osterreicher will voice opposition to the revisions proposed by the Department of Interior to the filming regulations in national parks and wildlife refuges. NPPA feels that the revisions expand restrictions on still photography in parks. The organization also disputes the definition of "commercial filming" and changes to the rules that regulate gathering audio.
