X-Rite, the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based color-management company that recently acquired Pantone, has introduced the ColorMunki product brand. Targeting the professional photography and design communities, the products ensure accurate color from inspiration to final output.

The ColorMunki portfolio includes ColorMunki Photo, ColorMunki Design and ColorMunki Create, all supported by a Web site. The products are a combination of software and hardware. ColorMunki Photo enables color matching from display to print by calibrating displays, projectors and printers, measuring ambient light and capturing spot colors. It also helps color creation and communication by automatically extracting colors from images.

ColorMunki Design makes calibrated color portable between popular software applications, including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and QuarkXPress. ColorMunki Create is a tool that helps color designers come up with palettes. All products incorporate Pantone's color libraries and other reference tools.
