American Photo Awards 7

American Photo magazine announced the seven winners of its 2nd Annual American Photo Images of the Year Competition. They are: Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair in the commercial photography category, Tom Mangelsen in nature, Chris Anthony and Adam Makarenko in personal photography, Michael Kamper in photojournalism and documentary, and Sean Salyards in student work.

The competition was juried by art director Marc Balet, author and filmmaker James Crump, photojournalist and Sygma co-founder Eliane Laffont and American Photo executive editor Russell Hart. Winning photographers will share over $15,000 in prizes; the Grand Prize winner, to be announced on Dec. 6 during a private event in New York, will be featured in the Jan/Feb issue of American Photo.
