Over 8,000 images of major American figures and events, shot by award-winning photojournalist Stanley Tretick prior to his death in 1999, are now available online. Tretick has worked for Life, Look, NBC, People and UPI, covering every U.S. President from Truman through Reagan, as well as the Robert F. Kennedy presidential campaign in 1968. He also photographed the Senate Rackets Committee hearings of 1957, produced special stills for a number of films, worked as a Marine Corps photographer during World War II and published a series of photo books. The archive aims to serve historians, librarians, photo researchers, publishers, and collectors.
