iStockphoto Exclusive Contributors Get $100,000 Pay Day

iStockphoto is letting exclusive contributors keep 100% of revenues generated by their images on August 20, Punctum Day, its newly branded holiday. These revenues totaled over $100,000, and the sum will be divided among iStock's 2,300 exclusive members. The company did not disclose individual contributor earnings. According to iStock founder and CEO Bruce Livingstone, the goal was to reward contributors for their support.

Jim-- I'd be interested in how many Selling Stock subscribers earn their living primarily from producing microstock? I would doubt there are too many. After all, a paid subscription is one of those ordinary costs of doing business that would seem to be out of the range of Microstock producers.
