Corbis' micro-payment arm SnapVillage has upgraded its back-end to provide metadata support. In addition to an online interface that allows contributors to enter keywords and other image information, the site now supports IPTC data and XMP files. In addition, SnapVillage has refined its search to sort images based on quality, number of views and comments. Watermarking is next for the site's fast-growing inventory of over 50,000 images, amassed in less than three months.
