Corbis Profiles New Workplace Trends

The new Corbis CREATIVE IQ Trends report focuses on extreme commuting and telecommuting as the two prevailing workplace trends currently affecting image buyers' needs.

Extreme commuters travel over 1.5 hours to reach work; this group includes 3.4 million Americans and is on the rise all over the world, including Europe and Asia. In China, one-way commutes have also exceeded one hour. Automotive and entertainment-technology manufacturers have begun to react by developing new product to cater to this growing commuter audience.

Related but opposite is the group of out-of-office workers who want a better work/life balance. According to Corbis, nontraditional workplaces are becoming the norm, with technology enabling portable and flexible work environments.
