PA Photos, the picture agency of the U.K.'s national Press Association, announced a new release of its real-time image delivery service and a new medical representation agreement.

ShootLive is a digital process that delivers images shot by PA photographers directly to customers' Web sites, mobile interfaces and other media outlets. PA's latest release of ShootLive speeds up the process, allowing edited and captioned images to be published minutes after they are taken. The digital delivery system also saves PA customers editing and placement time.

If his injury permits, images of soccer star David Beckham's Saturday debut with the Los Angeles Galaxy will be used in a trial of ShootLive's new release.

In a separate announcement, PA Photos confirmed an arrangement to represent the medical image collection of Pulse Picture Library. The collection contains general-practice images from the U.K. and Ireland, originally published in Pulse magazine.

Sam Spruce, marketing director of PA Photos, said the company has recorded significant customer demand for medical stock. Three other European medical collections - Moore Film's MedicalRF and 3D4Medical, medicalpicture and Wellcome Images - have recently made the news.

The Pulse representation deal rounds off PA Photos' editorial stock offering. PA Photos' archive dates back to 1863 and includes more than 15 million images. Earlier in the year, PA Photos made a similar agreement to represent sports photography from 422 magazine, published by Haymarket Publishing.
