Organizations from Europe, Australia and Africa have joined U.S. and U.K.-based industry bodies protesting Getty Images' newly introduced $49 Web-use image license. Bringing the total photographers represented to more than 35,000, those new to the party include: The National Press Photographers Association, the Illustrators' Partnership of America, the Association of Swedish Professional Photographers, the International Association of Architectural Photographers, the Australian Commercial and Media Photographers, the Advertising & Illustrative Photographers Association of New Zealand, the Bureau of Freelance Photographers and Professional Photographers of Southern Africa. Getty CEO Jonathan Klein has yet to publicly respond to the open letter sent to him earlier in the week. Company communications manager Molly Lohman said Getty is currently reviewing the joint complaint.
