This summer, images from the collection of London-based Science Photo Library will be on view in two exhibits.

"From Earth to the Universe" celebrates astronomy's contributions to society and culture. Co-sponsored by SPL and Astronet4, the exhibit is part of the forthcoming festivities of the International Year of Astronomy (2009). It will take place June 7- 29 at Albert Dock, Liverpool, England.

From June 9-July 13, London's Royal Albert Hall will host "Counterpoint," an exhibit that will pair images that exemplify the musical concept of counterpoint, which stands for the relationship between two or more voices that are independent in contour and rhythm, yet interdependent in harmony. For example, SPL-represented images of the Mandrill, a baboon-like primate photographed by Toni Angermayer, and a magnetic field by Cordelia Molloy will be displayed side by side.
