Olympic Games: Opening Images Faked, 2 Photo Blogs

U.K.’s Telegraph reports that the video of the opening ceremonies in Beijing that aired “live” on Friday was created via computer graphics and took the almost a year. Apparently, the organizers were not willing to take a chance of something going wrong with the fireworks or the live filming. In what is sure to be a series of Olympic mishaps, photographer Vincent Laforet, who is covering the games for Newsweek, sleeps through his first assignment. Along with a number of independents, Newsweek and Seattle Times are hosting photo-blogs of the event.
