SnapVillage posted two "most wanted" lists on its contributor blog. The first highlights top-selling image categories by number of downloads, with vector illustrations, adults, flowers, young adults and objects on white backgrounds ranking as the top five. While this confirms the popular notion that the microstock market's demand is different from traditional, the second list contradicts it by highlighting in-demand categories where downloads are comparably high, but few images are available. This list includes areas pro shooters consider the domain of traditional stock: arts and entertainment (dance, music), urban scenery, celebrations (birthdays, weddings) and seniors.
