Corbis has entered into a new distribution agreement with Japan's amanaimages, a division of The Amana Group and the
fourth-largest global player in stock licensing.
The deal makes amanaimages the exclusive distributor of Corbis' rights-managed collections in Japan. Though Corbis will maintain its Tokyo-based office to handle its rights-clearance business, image licensing will be transitioned to Amana. The arrangement does not affect existing Corbis distribution agreements for royalty-free images in Japan.
Corbis will also be the exclusive worldwide representative of select rights-managed imagery from amanaimages' collections. In addition, Corbis will non-exclusively represent Amana's royalty-free images.
