In response to the number of questions raised by Alamy's vague explanation of its upcoming Novel Use Scheme, the U.K. agency attempted to clarify the matter today on its contributor blog. Alamy's Alan Capel reiterated previous assertions that the new licensing scheme "is not about discounting" and "is not the same as microstock." In addition, Capel cited competition as one of the reasons for Alamy's unwillingness to provide concrete examples of deals that would be considered under the Novel Use Scheme. Though Alamy promises more information in the near future, many photographers remain concerned about opting into a scheme without knowing exact terms.
