London-based photo Library Lebrecht has launched Author Pictures, a new image collection and Web site dedicated to authors and literature of all periods, languages and styles. According to the company, it has acquired a wealth of related material through its relationships with specialist artists, photographers and archives. The library represents authors both famous and esoteric, whose works range from Egyptian hieroglyphics to current bestsellers. Author Pictures offers comprehensive coverage of authors' lives, families, friends, domestic locations and stage or film productions of their works. Also available are images of book production through the ages, illustrated covers of notable first editions and other unique content.
