DRR Highlights In-Demand Image Types

Tom Wear, director of photography and editorial services at Digital Railroad, has released a list of "most wanted" images, identified by repeated requests from Digital Railroad Marketplace buyers. Currently in demand are photos of anonymous, obscured and unidentifiable people, which are often sought by advertisers of sensitive issues and products, such as pharmaceuticals.

Other buyer requests include images of non-models drinking water, same-sex friends having fun, kids wearing outgrown clothes, comparison shopping and group activities, including hiking. Wear also emphasized growing requests for serialized imagery, particularly of the over-40 age group, showing the same model or group in various settings.

While some of this demand is based on gaps in DRR Marketplace inventory, the identified image categories mirror larger market trends, such as the increasing prominence of baby boomers in society.
