WIPO Focuses on Digital Rights

On Sept. 17, the Geneva-based World Intellectual Property Organization will host a seminar on Rights Management Information, particularly the metadata used to express copyright ownership and licensing information. During the daylong event, the organization will  focus on emerging technologies, standards and challenges affecting copyright owners, Internet users and search engines. Scheduled speakers include both academics and practitioners, such as Ted Shapiro, general counsel of the European Motion Picture Association, and Paul Jessop, CTO of the Recording Industry Association of America.
