Carol Sharp, a flora photographer and owner of U.K. stock house Flowerphotos, has launched a charitable environmental fund. Greener Image wants to involve those who use plants as their subjects. Sharp said, "We're asking photographers to give a very small percentage of their image sales to the fund," says Sharp, "and agencies representing them to match the amount given."

Donations will fund local environmental initiatives needing public exposure. Community gardens have been chosen as the first recipient category, and photographers are invited to nominate potential recipients.

More than 60 Flowerphotos' photographers have signed up, and Greener Image is reaching out to others.
