age footstock’s Technological Hosting Platform Photo Services has launched a new service targeting stock-image distributors. THP PhotoStorage is designed to allow stock agencies to focus on marketing, as opposed to the costly and time-consuming technical tasks of uploading, updating, correcting, withdrawing, reorganizing and storing millions of images in their collections. In addition, the new service eliminates the technical concerns associated with assimilating large numbers of images from newly added brands into existing inventories.
Currently, THP PhotoStorage provides daily updates and fulfillment of high-resolution files for over 5 million images from 60 distributors, 243 image providers and over 1,300 photographers. THP was originally developed six years ago to support the collection that resides on age footstock’s Barcelona and New York servers. According to age fotostock’s director of international sales Sylvie Cherian, making photo-storage services available to other stock distributors is a result of customer demand. A number of distributors have used the service prior to today’s official launch announcement, and Cherian says discussions with a number of others are underway.
THP PhotoStorage is independent of other THP products, which include search-engine and collateral functionalities. PhotoStorage is available for a monthly fee, which varies based on the number of images in each collection.
