PhotoPlus 2015 International Conference + Expo welcomed more than 21,000 attendees from 67 countries and all 50 U.S. States.  This year’s show also recorded the largest number of exhibitors in the past five years with 250, including 75 participating for the first time.  The strong showing of attendees and new exhibitors is evidence that PhotoPlus Expo, and the photo industry in general, continues to attract a large number of professionals and manufacturers extending beyond the boundaries of traditional photography.  Attendees this year included professional and advanced amateur photographers and filmmakers, college students and educators, all with the same goals in mind – to learn the latest in imaging techniques, business initiatives and opportunities from the world’s foremost authorities on photography, and to see the latest imaging technologies from leading manufacturers in the photo industry and beyond.

PhotoPlus Expo lived up to its reputation as the “largest photography classroom in North America,” as this year’s show included 100 new classes and seminars led by 140 world class educators, photographers and business professionals.  In addition to this, 16 Photo Walks provided a variety of hands-on shooting opportunities in nearly every genre of photography, and (157) attendees had their existing portfolios reviewed by art directors, picture editors and art buyers through the annual Portfolio Review program co-hosted by the Palm Springs Photo Festival.

“We are very pleased with this year’s attendance as well as the increase in exhibitors, especially the addition of 75 exhibitors who demonstrated their products at PhotoPlus Expo for the first time ever,” says Lauren Wendle, vice president/publisher of PDN and the Photo+ group.  “Our lineup of new and extensive seminars, Photo Walks and Master Classes represents our continued commitment to education and is the cornerstone of what attendees come to expect from this show.”

This year featured new, small-group photography education options, including 4 additional Master Classes and 16 Photo Walks, which drew more than 700+ attendees.  Last year saw a trend in the number of drone manufacturers attending the show for the first time and that trend continued to expand with a total of 6 drone manufacturers participating in this year’s show.

Other manufacturers participating in this year’s PhotoPlus Expo included Canon, Nikon, Samsung, Sony, Olympus and Epson, to name a few.

For those looking to mark their calendars for next year, PhotoPlus Conference & Expo will be held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City from October 19 to 22, 2016.
