Time Lightbox – Feast For The Eyes

Posted on 1/17/2014 by Jim Pickerell | Printable Version | Comments (0)

If you want to see beautiful pictures and know what’s happening visually in the world at large there is no better place to go than the Time Lightbox. Each Friday the Time editors put together a 40 to 60 image slideshow of the best pictures that have come across their desks in the past week that were shot by news photographers around the world.

Most of these pictures will not have appeared in your magazines, newspapers or on TV. The criteria for selection simply seems to be that the image must be beautiful, well crafted and about something that happened in the world in the past week. Sometimes the images are connected to a major news story; often they are not. Often they illustrate something that happened at event or place in the world U.S. citizens seldom, or never, hear anything about.

But they are always a feast for the eyes and celebrate the best of what still photography can be. You can sign up here to receive this free feed weekly.
