Five Years Of Getty Reportage

In observance of its 5-year anniversary of Reportage by Getty Images the company has put together a collection of some of the most compelling photojournalism shot by Getty photographers. There are multimedia presentations of Tahrir Square and Kabul as well as tent camps in Haiti and violence in Mexico. This anniversary gallery (http://www.reportagebygettyimages.com/news/) provides a real sense of how photojournalism is changing as the world moves away from delivering news in print and more and more to delivering it online and delivering it more visually.

In the heyday of Life Magazine a major picture story might have had 12 to 15 pictures – and such stories were rare. Now, it is not uncommon to show 30 to 50 images online to give the viewer a better understanding of not only major stories, but relatively minor stories as well.
