The owners of
VII Photo Agency have announced the revised roster of photographers represented by the agency. They include:
Lynsey
Addario, Jocelyn Bain Hogg, Stefano De Luigi, Venetia Dearden, Jessica
Dimmock, Adam Ferguson, Ashley Gilbertson, Ron Haviv, Davide Monteleone,
Seamus Murphy, Maciek Nabrdalik, Anastasia Taylor-Lind, Tomas van
Houtryve and Donald Weber.
Monteleone is brand new to the agency; Anastasia Taylor-Lind had been a photographer with the VII Mentor Program.
VII’s other veteran members include Marcus Bleasdale, Ed Kashi, Gary Knight, Antonin Kratochvil, Joachim Ladefoged, Christopher Morris, Franco Pagetti, Stephanie Sinclair and John Stanmeyer. (James Nachtwey quite the agency earlier this year.)
VII is delighted to announce a significant upgrade to the Board of Managers with the introduction of two leading industry professionals, Carlos Barrionuevo and Manuel Toscano. The revised board is now comprised of Carlos Barrionuevo, Neal Jackson (board chair), Gary Knight, Stephanie Sinclair, John Stanmeyer and Manuel Toscano.
This marks the dissolution of VII Network as the agency restructures to merge the service tiers for member photographers. The simplified structure allows all members equal access to the agency’s services and offers clients full-service support for the photographers on VII’s roster.
The restructuring is intended to put VII on a better financial footing by bringing in active, young members, and will also change photographers’ contract terms. According to a statement from VII, “The simplified structure allows all members equal access to the agency’s services and offers clients full-service support for the photographers on VII’s roster.”
“VII is marking its tenth anniversary with an expanded vision of the possibilities facing the media industry. By increasing the professionalism of the team, we are looking forward to a second decade that is even more successful than the first. Carlos and Manuel bring considerable weight to this growth,” said CEO Stephen Mayes.
Carlos Barrionuevo is a media professional with over 15 years of experience providing media and technology entrepreneurs and innovators with successful approaches to growing revenue and services.
“Changing consumer behavior has posed grave challenges to the economics of news and information while providing immense opportunities for journalists to distribute their work directly to a worldwide audience. VII is a leading institution in extending the importance of photojournalism in an increasingly visual world, and I am elated to join the board of VII at this time of great possibilities,” said Barrionuevo.
Manuel Toscano has spent the last ten years helping his clients bridge business and design by combining a deep expertise in developing and implementing communication strategies with an unmatched ability to craft compelling visual storytelling.
“It is with great pride that I take this position. I believe VII is leading the challenge of keeping alive the tradition of photojournalism while pushing the boundaries of how media documents, influences and fuels social change,” said Toscano.
Rob Ray, who served on the board since 2010, has stepped down to accept a new role as special consultant on VII’s online operations. “The expansion of the board gives me time to focus on creating top-tier interactive experiences for VII. Working with visual storytellers of this caliber is a dream job,” commented Ray.
