Following its Visual Trends predictions for 2018, Adobe recently released a deep analysis of its first trend – Silence and Solitude. In this chaotic, always-on world where people are bombarded with constant speeds and feeds, the Adobe is seeing a growing demand for images that convey comfort and regeneration.

From companies instituting a one-hour mandatory quiet time to increase productivity, to the tourism board of Scotland attracting tourists by touting quiet, it’s clear people are responding to imagery that offers respite—images that operate like a breath of fresh air to the viewer. For examples of powerful imagery that embrace Silence and Solitude, visit the Adobe Stock dedicated gallery.

Adobe Stock plans to release five addition visual trend reports throughout 2018. Rather than just a simple snapshot into what people are interested in at the moment, this trend forecast is designed to look at where we are as a culture, and as a global community, so we can really understand what makes an image resonate.
