Rohn Engh Passed Away

On Monday August 4th, Rohn Engh died of a sudden onset of infection causing serious pneumonia and multiple complications. The doctors and nurses at the VA hospital were excellent and did everything possible for him, never giving up. The infection took Rohn in one week. He was two months shy of his 85th birthday.

Rohn started publishing advice for editorial stock photographers in his PhotoLetter in 1976. His first book for stock photographers, Sell & Re-Sell Your Photos, sold over 126,000 copies in eight editions and is considered by both veteran photographers and newcomers to be the premiere desktop guide on marketing principles for the stock photographer. He also authored the book sellphotos.com, (updated in 2011) had written countless articles, and given seminars nationwide.

Rohn’s Photo Source International published several daily and weekly market guides including: PhotoDaily, PhotoLetter, PhotoStockNOTES and PhotoStockNOTES/Plus. In addition to advising photographers he has provided on-line information to photobuyers, photo researchers and photo editors for more than two decades. With his passing the market letters and PhotoStockNOTES will cease publication.

Engh and his wife Jeri lived and worked on the 80-acre Pine Lake Farm in Wisconsin. I agree with Brian Seed who commented, “Rohn was a pioneering, creative, and indefatigable worker in the field of stock photography.”
