THE SPIDER CRAWLS

Digimarc has announced a new tool that will help photographers track images that are
used on the World Wide Web.

Their MarcSpider service crawls the entire web looking for images with a Digimarc
watermark. (Watermarks by competing companies will not be found.)

Individuals who subscribe to this service will receive quarterly listings of the URL's
where any of their images are found and with just a click you'll be hot-linked directly
to those sites. The first reports will be sent to subscribers in July.

You'll have the opportunity to gain new revenue by insisting on usage fees or, at the
very least, be in a superior position to demand the removal of your images.
