ADOBE IDEAS CONFERENCE

March 18, 2005

Adobe Shares New Directions on Creativity, Technology and Branding

Adobe Systems Incorporated will host the Ideas Conference, a day-long event aimed at creative professionals and educators working in design, advertising, publishing and professional photography. Taking place at Grand Hyatt New York on April 4, the event will include presentations and panels that involve design industry luminaries and major brands and will open with a keynote presentation from Adobe CEO, Bruce Chizen and Adobe president and chief operating officer, Shantanu Narayen.

The conference costs US$100, but I strongly recommend that stock photographers and agents consider attending as the information provided very is expected to be informative. Registration information and event details can be found at: www.adobe.ideasconf.com.

"Adobe's customers change the way the world looks every day, through their innovative work in design, advertising, publishing and photography," said Shantanu Narayen, president and chief operating officer at Adobe. "The design and publishing world is changing at a rapid pace and The Ideas Conference pulls creatives together and allows them to share experiences and learn from their peers across the creative disciplines."

Participating companies and organizations include AIGA, Chopping Block, Columbia Sportswear, F+W Publications, Gawker Media, Google, Landor Design, Medium Footwear, MTV Networks, Pentagram Design, Tomato and Showtime.

"For the past two decades, Adobe has been one of the great and positive influences on design," said Richard Grefé, executive director at AIGA. "They have enabled designers to explore new dimensions of creativity and been a partner in the growth and development of the profession by undertaking activities on behalf of the profession: stimulating thinking about design, demonstrating the value of design and empowering designers to achieve success throughout their career."

The Ideas Conference is split into two tracks: New Thinking and Adobe Live. The New Thinking track will include sessions on brand building, how design technology is affecting brands, digital asset management and collaboration, digital photography and its impact on the design process, and how Variable Data Publishing (VDP) is allowing brands to infiltrate niche markets. Adobe Live will include sessions on Adobe Creative Suite and other market-leading Adobe products, including Adobe Photoshop® CS, Adobe InDesign® CS, Adobe Illustrator® CS, Adobe GoLive® CS, Adobe Acrobat® 7.0, Adobe After Effects® and Adobe Audition®.

Adobe will demonstrate emerging design, publishing and digital imaging technology - including the latest advances in content authoring for mobile platforms. The conference also enables design students to see where their industry is headed, kick-starting their post-college careers and giving insight into how industry leaders are using technology to enhance design and publishing.
