ASMP Offers Model/Property Release App

The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) has created a free Model/Property Release app for iOS (iPhone and iPad) that makes it easy for photographers to enter their own and the models information. The forms require that a photo of the model be attached to the release before it can be completed. Once the form is filled out the model, the photographer and a witness can each sign the form using their finger or a pen in the same manner as electronic credit card purchases are normally signed. Then, a PDF of the completed release can be emailed to the photographer and the model. No more worrying about carrying paper releases and keeping track of them on a shoot. All you need is your iPhone or iPad.

The app includes the ASMP simplified versions of model and property releases as well as the Getty Images model and property release forms which have become the industry standard for photographers planning to license images through a stock photography distributor or portal. To get the app, go here.

According to ASMP Executive Director Eugene Mopsik, "This 'must have' app helps photographers by giving them a virtual portfolio of releases to use anytime, anywhere for all types of photography and motion projects." In addition, photographers can access ASMP's extensive information on all types of releases by going here.
