CueSongs today announces the appointment of Luke Vines as Chief Operating Officer. Vines will begin the role with immediate effect, reporting directly into Christina Vaughan, CEO of CueSongs.

Luke has 14 years experience working in digital media management, licensing video, photography and music assets to creative clients. Music in particular has played a huge part in Luke’s life. Growing up in a musical house, he’s either banged or ‘played’ something since before he can remember, and has written tracks for several signed acts in the last 10 years.

As Operations Director, and later CTO at Image Source he oversaw development of their photography & video licensing platforms as they worked to refine every part of the process of bringing outstanding commercial imagery to market. As Luke said, ‘we looked to refine everything from the moment the shutter clicks to the delivering the photographer’s royalty check’.

After Image Source, Luke worked as Business Development Director with Orange Logic a California technology business who provide Digital Asset Management platforms for major content owners and licensors, allowing them to manage and directly license large-scale libraries of video, audio, photographic and multimedia assets.

Luke Vines said, “I first met Ed Averdieck, CueSongs’ Chairman a couple of years ago and loved his and Peter’s vision to democratize music, bringing the very best labels and publishers for commercial music to the millions of online content creators. So, when Christina approached me to join the CueSongs team, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to link my licensing and digital platform experience with one of my personal passions.”

Christina Vaughan, Chief Executive Officer of CueSongs says, “This has been an exciting year of change for CueSongs. In building a new team, I have been very focused on how we deliver relevant commercial music to the millions of professional creators in the YouTube and new media platforms who understand that better commercial music delivers better Return on Investment for them. Emotional engagement is the key to success in online content and in representing the best artists, labels and music, we know that we are a bridge between two very exciting worlds that are creating a whole new revenue stream for the music industry. We very much feel we are at the forefront of an idea whose time has come. Luke has excellent credentials, and we are very excited to be working together and leading such an exciting charge”.
