PHOTOSHOT, one of the leading international photo libraries representing 5,500 contributors worldwide and representing over 15 million images, today announced that it had completed the purchase of The Data Archive/Construction Photography, a digital asset management software developer and a specialist photography and licensing company.

Headquartered in London with offices in the US and Germany, the acquisition is part of an ambitious growth strategy and will significantly expand Construction Photography’s footprint in the UK, USA and Europe.  The addition of Construction Photography and The Data Archive will extend the services that Photoshot can provide its clients internationally.

Founded in 2001, The Data Archive and Construction Photography specializes in the development, supply and hosting of digital asset management systems to corporates, government entities and photo libraries, and offers a variety of specialist photo and video services including assignments and time lapse photography used in external and internal communications.  Its clients operate in diverse sectors including energy, architecture, building and infrastructure.

Jean-Francois Cardella, Managing Director of The Data Archive/Construction Photography commented, “We are very excited by the prospect of being part of Photoshot and the opportunities that this brings. Having access to an international business and the support of world renowned collections and assignment services will provide a real competitive advantage to our offer.  Moreover, we are delighted to be part of a group that has a proven track record of building and nurturing relationships with medium-sized and global businesses, as it has done in the UK, the US and Germany, and are looking forward to playing a key part of the group’s strategic growth plan. Ultimately, we believe that being part of Photoshot will allow us to serve our clients even better, bringing more support and creativity to our offer. I am very excited about what we have planned for 2014 and beyond and I’m enormously grateful for clients’ enduring support.” Jean-Francois remains with the company as Creative Director.

Charles Taylor added, “This acquisition brings world class specialist skills and content to the Photoshot Group which we intend to bring to a wider audience. Over the last decade, The Data Archive has developed quality software products and Construction Photography is a proven supplier of photo and video services as well as images for licensing.  Both businesses complement Photoshot’s existing licensing and assignment offerings. The acquisition is very timely given that the image licensing business is increasingly technology led and there is wider and increasing demand for DAM systems from content rich users in other industries.”
