Dreamstime has enhanced the already prolific stock media catalog of 43 million images and is now accepting submissions to build a library of royalty-free audio clips. In the first 24 hours after opening the site for submissions Dreamstime received more than 10,000 sound clips. The new audio section will eventually contain thousands of high quality professionally produced sound effects and music files, not currently found anywhere else in the industry. The royalty-free audio clips are grouped into four categories which include instrumental, style, theme, and sound effects, with many sub-categories available for further refining, ensuring users can quickly find the exact sounds or music their projects require.
The collection will be available for purchase in the coming months after a large number of submissions are received from the Dreamstime community. Users will be able to purchase credits-based and subscription packages for instant access to the Dreamstime library of lossless audio files including WAV, FLAC, and AIFF formats. Unlike competitive services that offer only 16bit/44kHz audio quality, Dreamstime audio content is 24bit/96kHz high-resolution audio files that are at studio quality.
To ensure the highest quality standards, MP3 files are not accepted as submissions to the Dreamstime library, however the site offers MP3s that are conversions from high-quality files.
"We're building a collection of quality audio files to cater to the needs of our customer base, which is the largest in the entire stock industry," said Serban Enache, CEO and co-founder, Dreamstime. "The sound clips are a natural complement for all designers who are already using stock footage clips from our site. We continue to innovate our service offerings with studio-quality audio clips, including the availability of MP3 files at 320kbps. Recent advancements in smartphones such as the launch of the 24-bit capable HTC 10 mean savvy consumers expect high-fidelity audio quality. We're staying ahead of this curve with the industry's highest quality audio content that perfectly complements our massive stock image library."
Dreamstime recently launched
