'Speaking in Tongues' Seminar Announced

The Metadata Image Library Exploitation Project will conduct an all-day seminar, “Speaking in Tongues,” in London on Oct. 3. The seminar will include discussion and workshops on multilingual thesauri that can make image collections widely available internationally. The MILE Project aims to promote European cultural heritage and make digital art more accessible by improving metadata, thus improving the use, accessibility and trade of digital content.  Coordinated by The Bridgeman Art Library and funded by the European Commission, MILE assembles the knowledge and expertise of partners from the picture-library industry across Europe to focus on metadata classification, metadata search and retrieval, and intellectual property rights.
