To answer an ever-growing demand for video content from its clients, Newscom has added broadcast-quality video from Reuters to its array of text and visual content. Available for licensing at the
Reuters Video Resource Center are 13,000 current and archival clips that cover breaking news, human interest subjects, sports and entertainment. Over 125 video stories are added daily.
In addition to MPEG2, each story is available in Web formats, including Real, Flash and Windows Media. All are accompanied by previews, complete scripts and shot-lists.
Reuters is the first among major international news agencies to offer broadcast-quality breaking news video online in the U.S. Newscom also plans to provide access to the Reuters Desktop Library, which contains over 6,000 stories spanning a century, and video content from other partners.
