Continuing to focus on business segments least affected by the proliferation of low-cost imagery, Corbis has engaged 16 high-profile celebrity photographers to contribute new imagery to its Outline brand.
Â
According to Corbis, demand for entertainment and celebrity imagery continues to rise. The company’s research shows that magazine pages within this category are growing by 15% per year, ostensibly making this the fastest-growing segment of the media industry.
Â
New contributors come from various parts of the world. They include Peter Henket, a Dutchman known for Latino and music-industry imagery, a New York-based Hollywood starlet shooter Andrew McLeod, and celebrity-women and fashion photographer Paulo Sutch of the U.K.
Â
Also joining Corbis are: Giuliano Bekor, Lesley Bhom, Oberto Gili, Philip Gostelow, Fergus Greer, Ture Lillegraven, Amanda Marsalis, Christopher McLallen, Ben Morris, Peter Rigaud, Margo Silver, Benni Valsson and Jelle Wagenaar. Each has a distinctive  and ample professional experience.
Â
Though Corbis contends it already has a superior celebrity photography collection, the company hopes that adding this talent to its roster will bring new depth and style.
Â
The 16 shooters will contribute to Outline, OutlineLive, Outline@Home and Entertainment collections. All these offerings profile celebrities in various settings and styles, from formal portraits (Outline) and candids (OutlineLive) to images taken inside celebrity residences (Outline@Home) and on the red carpet (Entertainment).
