Corbis is adding high-definition motion content from documentary filmmaker Maysles Films. The brothers behind the corporate name, Albert and David Maysles, pioneered American
cinema verité by making unscripted non-fiction feature films without using sets or adding narration.
The Maysles' library spans over 50 years and includes titles such as Grey Gardens, Gimme Shelter, Meet Marlon Brando, With Love from Truman, Salvador Dali's Fantastic Dream and Orson Welles in Spain. Over the next several months, Corbis will re-master many of the films and will also offer previously unavailable Maysles content, such as behind-the-scenes footage and outtakes. Content will be available for both editorial and commercial uses.
