Ferrone: "Photolibrary Deserves Better"

Posted on 12/19/2007 by Julia Dudnik Stern | Printable Version | Comments (3)

Chris Ferrone of About the Image goes on record in Photolibrary's defense. Ferrone, who used to work at Index Stock prior to its sale, provides stock photographers with several reasons to like Photolibrary as the new Index owner. Of several companies bidding for Index, Photolibrary was the only one who guaranteed paying overdue photographer commissions. Ferrone thinks the company is now acting in good faith.

I support Chris Ferrone's opinion in this matter. I know Tim Moore and the guys from photolibrary and I am sure they do act in good faith and with the interest of the photographers on their mind. I am sure they were not fully aware of the situation at Index and are for this not to blame.

I likewise agree with Chris Ferrone's take on this. I've had dealings with both companies and having PhotoLibary take it over is a Godsend to everyone associated with Index. If my past and current dealings with PhotoLibary are any indication, this problem will be solved in the right, honest and fair way for all concerned. But this will certainly take a great amount of time and patience to sort out.

I guess that Chris is right because I am sure he knows a lot about Index Stock and the situation with Bahar Gidwani before the agency was sold. And the fact, that a buyer feels responsible for the photographers is not found very often. So I believe that photolibrary does the right steps.
