Global ImageWorks, a boutique New Jersey stock-footage company, has made its collection available through stock-footage search engine and database aggregator Footage.net.
Founded by television and film industry veteran Jessica Berman-Bogdan in 2003, Global ImageWorks offers fully searchable text for 10,000 screenable sequences, most averaging three to five minutes. The company offers footage sales, research and rights-management services. From a quality standpoint, Global ImageWorks describes its offering as “rich, high quality footage [discovered] in the vaults of filmmakers, cinematographers, journalists and production companies that provide unique views of the world we live in.”
In addition to Global ImageWorks, Footage.net represents 25 of the world’s top footage collections, including ABCNews VideoSource, Archive Films by Getty Images, BBC Motion Gallery, Framepool, HBO Archives and March of Time Series, and NBC News Archives. Footage.net was established in 1994 and has become the non-fiction production industry’s leading footage resource. It reports an average of 400 new registered users per month and says that 2008 saw over 100,000 searches on the Footage.net database.
