LicenseStream creator ImageSpan and liveBooks, a porftolio Web-site company, have forged a partnership to provide customized services to liveBooks’ 5,000 photographer-customers.
As part of the arrangement, liveBooks will promote the LicenseStream licensing-transaction platform to its customer base. Services such as content protection, tracking, monitoring, billing and other transactional support will be offered to liveBooks clients at discounted rates. ImageSpan will create a co-braded liveBooks LicenseStream store to feature member-generated content.
ImageSpan chief executive officer Iain Scholnick says participating photographers will increase licensing revenues, with little additional investment, by publishing content directly to the Web and global search engines via LicenseStream. Andy Patrick, chief executive officer and president of liveBooks, adds that LicenseStream will also drive new traffic to photographer Web sites.
Founded in 2003, Sausalito-based ImageSpan released LicenseStream 2.0 last March. During the past year, the company has also made a series of important partnerships on both service and marketing sides of the business, solidifying its market position. These include a partnership with PicScout, which enabled LicenseStream subscribers to track and monetize content published online, and a series of third-party discounts and reseller agreements, such as offering special rates to members of industry organizations and making LicenseStream available through a French photo portal.
