Sarasota-based royalty-free retailer MediaFocus has announced the addition of image credits to its stock-photo Web site.
Established in 1996, MediaFocus licenses single images for $20 to $99, depending on file size. All single-image licenses are extended, allowing buyers to use each image on commercial items such as T-shirts without obtaining additional clearance. The company also offers subscriptions and CD collections.
New MediaFocus credit packages start at $15 for 10 credits. The highest-priced package is $490 for 500 credits. Credits expire within a year.
MediaFocus hopes to attract customers who desire the flexibility of credits-based pricing. This pricing model can also have numerous other benefits for the site operator that integrates it into its usual pricing structure. However, it appears that in MediaFocus’ case, the credit packages come with a large price reduction.
