New Collections, Services to Launch at CEPIC Congress

Asia Images Group, CuboImages and Latinstock will be among the image producers unveiling new collections at the June CEPIC Congress. In addition, industry supplier Akamedia will demo its video-distribution system, which allows an image agency to create its own video offering.

Singapore-based Asia Images has launched mindbodysoul, an image collection that focuses on wellness, beauty and environmental issues. The rights-managed collection augments the company's rights-managed Asia Images brand and its royalty-free offerings, which include AsiaPix and Picture India.

The company sees mindbodysoul as an answer to the increasing market demand for images depicting green living, wellness and alternative medicine. Asia Images founder Alexander Mares-Manton said that Asia provides the perfect location for such photography. "Yoga was founded in India, Chinese medicine and practices are becoming more popular in the West, and Southeast Asia is home to some of the best spas in the world," he says.

CuboImages' new brand is CuboVision, a long-term project that will depict the agency's native Italy. The first collection produced by the travel-photo specialist under the CuboVision will focus on Sicily's nature, events and food. The Milan-based company plans to cover two more regions by the end of the year. These will round out CuboImages' inventory of 250,000 travel, lifestyle, food and plant images.

Latin Stock, an Argentina-based collective that unites 10 agencies from Latin America and Spain, has recently moved into royalty-free production. The new Latin Stock Collection premieres with 3,500 images. Shot on location by Latin photographers, the lifestyle collection stresses authenticity.

Photo agencies interested in expanding into the growing segment of video will be able to preview the audiovisual distribution and syndication solution by Paris-based Akamedia. The company specializes in referencing, displaying, syndicating and delivering professional video and broadcast content globally. The 3-year-old Akamedia platform, updated last February, distributes digital video of more than 100 sources to traditional and Web television, as well as mobile applications. Offered to photo agencies under revenue-sharing, variable-cost or software-as-service models, the platform unites content and rights management with back-office and marketing functions.

The congress will take place in Malta from June 4 to 8. Details of scheduled presentations are available through CEPIC.
