PhotoShelter, Graph Paper Press Partner to Integrate Archives with WordPress

Photographer Web site specialist PhotoShelter and Graph Paper Press, which designs WordPress themes and tools, announced a partnership that integrates PhotoShelter’s personal archive product with the leading blogging platform.

PhotoShelter now offers a new Web site template generator that matches PhotoShelter-produced photographer Web sites with WordPress themes by Graph Paper Press, enabling photographers using the service to maintain a unified brand across their Web sites and blogs. Also available are several WordPress plugins that allow photographers to easily display PhotoShelter-hosted images on their WordPress blogs.

The partners stress the search engine optimization benefits of these new tools. PhotoShelter chief executive Allen Murabayashi said: “To attract Web site traffic via search engines and generate new business online, photographers want to eliminate barriers between their blogs, portfolio sites, image archives and social media—while maintaining a consistent look-and-feel.” Murabayashi added that this trend is driving the paradigm shift away from Flash-based photo sites that are passive, design-intensive and search engine-unfriendly.

PhotoShelter is promoting the new offering with a 30-day free trial through Oct. 10.
