U.K. Company Touts Free Stock Shots

Newly launched Free-Stock-Photos.co.uk touts "100% free stock photos," but this only applies to images used online. The free license also requires attribution and a link back to the image provider. Other resolutions start at £1.99, and print-quality images equaling A4 paper in physical dimensions can be licensed for £4.99. The community-based Web site launched with about 3,500 royalty-free images and says it adds about 600 new photos per month.

    When will agencies & photographers wake up and quit being such stpid businessmen?

    Hey, forget free..... let's pay customers to please use our images!!

    What is next in this crazy world. We professionals build a great business & a bunch of know-nothings keep figuring out how to stab it in the back.

    At least we see the biggest weakness in photographers... they know nothing about busines!

    Photographers are made to feel happy. They feel great that someone has asked them to use their pictures! Imagine HIS pictures over all the other sources in the world!! You think all the big photo libraries do not give their pictures free!!!

    I learnt this recently when I was having lunch with one of the big photo libraries. He asked me: "What is the percentage of my cancellations?" When I remarked: "Zero" he was surprised and that is when I learned how many hundreds of pictures they give away "as cancellations or free".
