Primsoll, a 20-year-old British industry-analysis firm that claims dominance over the local, French and Japanese markets, has released a
report on U.K. photographic agencies. According to its conclusions, one in three local companies is jeopardizing their future by selling at a loss. On the other hand, the report shows that the majority of the companies examined are growing.
The analysis also covers the industry in general, including sales growth, market share and profitability over a 10-year period. For each of the 88 local agencies, Primsoll provides a five-year financial profile, evaluates future prospects and supplies management information. Several U.K. divisions of foreign companies, such as Corbis, Getty Images, Jupiterimages and Photolibrary, are covered as well.
