Alamy has reported numbers for Q1 2006 that show another huge growth in supply with 825,052 images added to their database. This was up a full 28% from the 644,808 added in Q4 2005 and 86% from the 443,587 added in Q1 2005. See the rest of their numbers.
Getty Images has made a deal to acquire the 17,000 John Foxx RF image collection from Image State for approximately $1.5 million or about $88 per image. For less than $1 million Sheldon Marshall has purchased rights to represent the Image State RM collection.
Joint administrators from Kroll Limited in the UK have been appointed to operate Image State until it can be sold or closed down. Rumors have it that at least one company is looking to acquire the entire company and at least 22 companies would like to acquire various parts of ImageState.
Jupitermedia Corporation has reported revenues for the quarter ended March 30, 2006 of
$33.9 million compared to revenues of $19.7 million for the same period last year. The figure was only $1.8 million above the previous quarter despite a number of new acquisitions that should be providing revenue.

Getty Images, Inc. has acquired Laura Ronchi, S.p.A., its largest master delegate and the leading provider of visual content in Italy. No information was supplied as to the price paid for the acquisition.
a21, Inc. has announced the completion of a private placement of $15.5 million of Secured Convertible Notes ("Notes") with institutional and accredited investors. The Company expects to use the proceeds of this private placement to repay existing debt, provide working capital, and for acquisitions and expansion.
