Africa Media Online Offers New Simplified RM Pricing

Posted on 7/19/2016 by Jim Pickerell | Printable Version | Comments (0)

In response to changes in the industry and client requirements Africa Media Online has introduced a new simplified pricing model. The South Africa based picture library has moved away from the complexities of narrowly defined RM usages and is now offering clients a simple procedure for establishing what an image costs.

Images are still sold on a single use, rights managed basis, but the uses have been defined in 10 broad use categories. They are:
Book cover: print + digital, world rights, all languages
Book inside: print + digital, world rights, all languages

Digital: multiple use – website, blog, social media
    Digital Presentation
Magazine cover: Print + Digital, World Rights, all languages
Magazine inside: Print + Digital, World Rights, all languages
Newspaper inside: Print + Digital, World Rights

Report Cover: Print + Digital, World Rights, all languages
Report Inside: Print + Digital, World Rights, all languages
TV & Documentary: life of the original
There are separate prices for Historical images and General, non-historical images with the historical images ranging from 19% to 38% more expensive than the general images.

In effect there are only 5 different prices in each category. The prices for book cover, magazine cover and report cover are all the same. The prices for magazine inside, newspaper inside and report inside are all the same. Both digital prices are the same and there are separate prices for Book inside and TV & Documentary.

The following chart shows the prices in South African Rand and U.S. Dollars.
