Bigstock has announced a partnership with the Freelancers Union, a non-profit membership organization for independent workers. The partnership will provide the union's nearly 200,000 members with creative assets and inspiration.
"Freelance Creatives make up a significant portion of the Bigstock community - from the person who submits images to the designer or blogger who uses them," says Bigstock General Manager Ben Pfeifer. "Partnering with the Freelancers Union allows us to support both sides of this model, and encourage independent creativity through licensed visual media."
As part of the partnership Bigstock will offer donations for the Union’s fundraising auctions, and provide each of the union's members with creative assets to fuel their own projects. Bigstock also provided imagery to the Freelancer's Union for their National Co-Working Day. Freelance Union has served as a platform for independent workers through education, advocacy and services for more than 17 years.
"As the independent workforce has grown, so, too, has the economy around it," said Sara Horowitz, founder and executive director of Freelancers Union. "Companies like Bigstock are part of a $250 billion market tied to this new workforce. Bigstock is leading the way by demonstrating its commitment to the people who make the new economy move, not just the dollars that flow behind them. This is the future - freelancer-driven companies doing right by freelancers."
