Fotolia TEN Collection Contest

As a way of motivating and educating graphic artists, for the past 10 months Fotolia has showcased the work of a single artist each month. Each artist was given a specific theme and was required to use some images from the Fotolia collection in the work. The themes included: business, family, travel, food, lifestyle, street art, mobile, money, drinks and abstract.

Throughout the TEN Collection campaign, designers were able to gather tips & tricks unique to the artist of the month by watching the artist interview videos and by also accessing the PSD files that contain 100+ layers. Over the 10 month period there were approximately 150,000 downloads worldwide of these resources.

Now that TEN Collection is finished, Fotolia is inviting digital artists worldwide to challenge the world renowned artists featured in the TEN Collection. Contestants must create a PSD file based on any of the 10 themes, using at least three of the same Fotolia images used by the challenged artist. Those interested have until October 10, 2012 to submit their PSD file. For more information about the contest go to Fotolia’s Facebook page http://www.tencollectioncontest.com.

Finalists will be eligible to win from a selection of great prizes, totaling $300,000 in value. The grand winning artist will have their entry featured in an international advertising campaign worth approximately $200,000.

Contestants have their choice of challenging any of the TEN artists, from which ever month they choose. They may challenge as many artists as they want (so up to 10 entries), however, they can only enter one submission per artist.

The grand winner will be selected on October 17 by judges from the TEN Collection, Fotolia, Wisibility and Amkashop.

Other prizes up for grabs include:
•       a copy of Adobe® Creative Suite® 6 Master Collection software
•       a Wacom Intuos5 Touch S tablet

•       a 1-year Fotolia subscription (100 downloads / month)
•       1,000 “TUTO credits” for use on tuto.com
•       a wide size PVC print order on Amkashop.com

“The TEN Collection project has been a true success with graphic designers and creative artists alike. There have been approximately 150,000 downloads worldwide over the last ten months and that’s amazing”, says Guillaume Le Bleis, General Director of Fotolia France. “Knowing that designers all around the globe are benefitting makes it all worthwhile. We’re really excited to launch this year’s TEN contest because we’ll once again be able to reach out to passionate designers who have a desire to push their creative limits.”
