After 10 years in operation, and with more than 800,000 images, the German microstock agency
Digitalstock.de has decided to cease operations and provide customers and photographers with an exclusive offer to continue buying and selling photos online at
PantherMedia.net.
"As a small agency focused on the German market only, it was not possible for us to compete in this price driven market and to stay profitable“, explains Juergen Wunderle, CEO of Digitalstock GmbH. "Many thanks go out to our photographers and customers for the long lasting relationship. We have found a strong partner with PantherMedia who understands the German market and can trustfully continue the business relationships.“
Every customer who is transferring his account from digitalstock.de to panthermedia.net receives three images for free. Existing deposits will also be transferred to PantherMedia with an exchange rate of one DIGIcredit to one XXL download on panthermedia.net. This may triple the value of the deposit, since one image was about one to three DIGIcredits. Besides free images and the exchange of credits, customers benefit from a much larger collection of 30 million images at panthermedia.net compared to only 800.000 images on digitalstock.de.
Photographers may opt in to their account transfer until the 31st of August 2014. Every photographer who is not already registered at PantherMedia, may transfer his account including the images without any additional work. Digitalstock will pay out all existing photographers until 30th of September 2014, after they sucessfully request the payout of their account.
Contracts between users and Digitalstock GmbH terminate at the end of the year. The platform will then be fully integrated into the panthermedia.net stock photo agency platform.
"Digitalstock and PantherMedia are the pioneers in the German microstock market. With a common understanding of the German market and its service as well as image quality requirements, we are welcoming Digitalstock’s customers and will serve them according to their individual needs“, said Robert Walters, CEO of PantherMedia.
