Photononstop Not Paying For Keywording

Lohian Networks a keywording agency in India reports that Paris based Photononstop has not been paying its bills and may be in financial difficulty.

Rashi Jain, Project Coordinator for Lohian Networks reports that in 2016 his company keyworded 3788 images for Photononstop at a rate of $1.25 per image for a total cost of $4,735.00. Invoices were sent in June and July 2016 via Photosindia in the U.S. Almost two years later these invoices have not been paid after repeated followup requests.

I contacted Christian Delannoy, p.qrynaabl@cubgbabafgbc.pbz Co-president of Photononstop at the end of May 2018. He promised to “ask our account department and get back to you.” Almost one month later there has been no further communication or response.

Service providers (particularly those residing outside of France) might want to request payment upfront before providing any future service. It is unclear whether image creators are receiving prompt royalty payments.

Photononstop has 66,673 images in the Getty Images collection, mostly RM, but about 8,500 are RF. On average this number of images should be netting Getty Images about $780,000 annually. At a 30% royalty (I'm unsure what percentage Photononstop has negotiated with Getty) the company might be receiving $234,000 before they pay out a share to the photographers. Presumably, they also make direct sales from their own website.

After I published this story and 28 days after I first sent an email to Christian Delannoy requesting information, I received the following from him.

"I  answer your question about our debt with Rashi. We had a strong problem at the times for quality and delay. But in order to keep  strong relationships with you. I will pay! He receives  the transfer end of week."

If, and when, the money is transferred, I will report it here.

Lohian Networks has reported that the entire amount owed to them by Photononstop has now been paid to them.
